Left 4 Dead – The Movie (Part 2)

I hope everyone enjoyed part 2 of our Left 4 Dead movie.

Part 3 will be coming out hopefully this summer.  In the meantime we are working on a new futuristic post-apocalyptic series.  We don’t have a name for it yet but keep checking our blog for updates because we have a ton of awesome stuff to show ya.  Also, we are currently looking to make an original soundtrack for it so if anyone would like to help out with that shoot us an email at colinandconnor@gmail.com

Thanks

L4D2 BTS pics are up:)

We are getting closer and closer to finishing L4D part 2!  At the moment, I am creating the visual effects for the ending battle but the vid should be up in a few weeks.

I posted some BTS pictures so if you want you can check them out in the photo section.

I do have some exciting news however (maybe it’s just me who’s excited lol) after L4D2 we will be cranking out some awesome videos for you guys!  No more 6 month breaks haha I promise.  Don’t want to end up like the purchase brothers… nahh actually they are extremely talented people it just confuses me why they haven’t even logged into their YouTube page for over 2 months!?!  Anyway, I’m excited and I hope you are excited.  One of our upcoming projects is going to be a post-apocalyptic series set slightly in the future… I know, I know it’s sooo cliche haha… but that’s a very-low-budget indie filmmakers dream!  Not to mention, I love the genre.  And it’s affordable to produce.  VERY affordable.  So why not.

An Update

First off, I accidentally deleted every comment on our site…. my deepest apologies… welll there was only like 4 haha

Back to business.  The shoot for l4d part 2 was by far the most intense shoot we’ve done or will do for a while.  We filmed for like 7 days and still have more to go!  Not to mention, it was a 2 1/2 hour drive to the location every day….  Jesus!

We are probably going to post some bts video and pictures soon with some more description of the shoot.

Peace

Long Time No See?

yes, left 4 dead part 2 is on its way

its been a little delayed due to school and college applications.  I’m applying to some film schools and the deadlines are coming up FAST so I’ve been busy shooting/editing videos for them.  We will post videos more frequently once my apps are done:)

sorry for the wait :/

Left 4 Dead – The Movie (Part 1)

This was a film we had been thinking of making for a while. Left 4 Dead is a great game and a perfect setting for a low-budget film. And by the way, we worked our butts off to get a girl in the film, i mean honestly, it got to the point where I was calling random actresses in LA, and asking them if they wanted to be in a zombie film. We kept up our desperate attempts to get an actress until the day before we planned to shoot, we just had to give up and settle with another… guy. We shot this on our Rebel T2i, which is an amazing camera that can produce some incredible images, and for only like $850, it’s a steal. Anyways, part 2 is on the way and we’ll probably be posting some pics soon. peace.

Doritos

We actually filmed this video a while ago.  Most of it was shot in LA, but a few scenes were shot around where we live. Also, we had no clue what we were going to film, it wasn’t planned or scripted or anything.  We just knew we wanted to film a chase sequence, and we ended up going with the doritos thing like the day before.  This was shot on our old camera, a JVC GY HD-110, which is a great camera by the way.  If you don’t know already, the robber with the beanie is me, Connor, and the other guy is Colin.  Nowadays we try to remain strictly behind camera, due largely to the fact that we have a dual-system setup (separate audio and video), and we are the only ones who can even operate the equipment.  So yeah.

Short Action Test Video

This is the first video we uploaded to our main YouTube channel.  It’s also the first video we shot with our Rebel T2i.  It was mainly a test to try out our new camera and some effects like muzzle flashes, blood, and everything else in AE2. We didn’t originally plan to upload this to YouTube, but we figured we needed someting under our belt before we uploaded Left 4 Dead.  We had to film the entire video in about 4 hours, and as you probably noticed, it was in the evening, and the light was changing rapidly.  We wanted the sunset atmosphere, which can be very awesome, but limits your shooting time to about and hour or two if you are outdoors.  Indoors is even worse.  We once shot a video indoors during the evening and the light changed so dramatically that we couldn’t use a good portion of the footage. Our DOF was pretty deep in this video because we had no nd filters and we had to crank down the aperture to like 12, and that was after raising the shutter speed.  Also, we used the kit lens for the rebel which is 18-55mm f3.5.  To be honest, this lens sucks.  I would highly recommend purchasing some nice glass even $300-$400 is not bad.  A nice lens, along with good lighting, is essential to a good looking image.  If you don’t know how to do lighting, LEARN IT. You will never know how important it is until you’ve tried it for yourself.  And if you want to know who the beastly black guy is, he’s a track star at Stanford.  Ya, he’s a beast.

Up ‘n Running

Finally… the first post on our site :)

My first attempt at a website goes all the way back to middle school

for some reason I got into the business of internet advertising at a very young age… and for all ya’ll youngins, if u needa make money, internet advertising is NOT the way to go.  I dont think anything can be sooo time consuming and yet incredibly unproductive.  the money you make (if any) is usually only a few bucks from clicking your own ads and you need at least $100 in your account for google to pay you (adsense).  There’s something like $2.56 in mine at this very moment… actually I need to reactivate my account… now i have something to do tonight… bring on the coffee :)
